Cosmetology
Program Description
The Tech Campus offers a comprehensive two-year Cosmetology program designed to provide students with in-depth training in hair, skin, and nail services. Throughout the duration of the program, students receive extensive hands-on instruction in a salon-like setting, ensuring they develop the technical skills and professional experience required to succeed in the beauty industry. Upon completion, students will have fulfilled the 1,500-hour training requirement necessary to qualify for the Illinois State Board of Cosmetology licensing examination.
What will my classes be like?
In the first year, students focus on foundational theory and core concepts, which are reinforced through guided hands-on training in a classroom setting. In the second year, students transition to working on the salon floor, where they gain real-world experience by providing services to clients under instructor supervision. Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in an off-campus internship at a professional salon.
