• A message from our Executive Director, Dr. Sebastian Kapala:

Dear Parents, Guardians, Stakeholders, and Staff,

As I have previously shared with you, the Lake County Tech Campus (LCTC) continuously monitors local and county-wide health data from the Lake County Health Department (LCHD) on the Lake County, IL School Decision Dashboard

At this time, the Incidence Rate per 100,000 of COVID-19 in Lake County’s 7 Day Rolling Average Matrix is indicating seven (7) consecutive days of an incidence rate greater than 14/100,000. Also, per the Lake County, IL School Decision Dashboard, “virtual learning is recommended at rates above 14 per 100,000, hybrid learning is recommended for rates between 7 and 14 per 100,000…” While the dashboard has two metrics, both must indicate hybrid or in-person learning. At this time, the data and the LCHD recommendations are guiding me to move LCTC into an Adaptive Pause and pivot to full remote learning. Lake County Tech Campus will finish this week in the hybrid model and resume full remote learning on Monday, October 26, 2020.

Please note that LCTC is returning to the same remote instruction we have been in since August until the spread is contained. It is very important for all of us to maintain vigilance during this time and follow the 3W’s: Wear a mask, Watch your distance, Wash your hands. Also, it is imperative for everyone to follow the strict guidelines to help prevent further spread of COVID-19.

While our goal at LCTC has always been to have in-person learning at our school, we must also make decisions that ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community.

If a change in the educational delivery model is deemed prudent, we will communicate that to you as quickly as possible.

    Thank you for your partnership.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Sebastian Kapala
    Executive Director
