  • Program Description

Virtually all manufactured products depend on America's precision machining industry at some point during their production. The Manufacturing Technology Program meets the demands of employers for solid training in this specialized field of metal cutting operations for the creation of machined parts, specialized tooling molds, dies, and prototypes.

The Lake County Tech Campus Manufacturing Technology Program develops the knowledge and skills necessary to perform machining operations in order to strengthen American manufacturing by building a globally competitive machining workforce. The curriculum is focused on meeting industry standards skills for producing competent workers that are immediately employable. This class will give students the opportunity to earn dual credit through the College of Lake County and potentially onsite paid internships with one of our many business and industry partners.

  • What will my classes be like?

We bring the manufacturing industry right into the class and lab with hands-on projects. Students learn to read and interpret blueprints, use lathes, milling and CNC machines, set up and operate metal cutting machines, and use precision measuring instruments. We can help you develop advanced skills that will lead to manufacturing internships and job shadows right in our local community while still in high school. Start developing the blueprint for your future in Manufacturing.
