Tech Campus Celebrates Fourth Year of Raffle Car Program
For the fourth consecutive year, Tech Campus is thrilled to continue its Raffle Car Program, a unique initiative where all proceeds are directed toward tool scholarships for students pursuing careers in the automotive industry. This year's raffle features a 2013 Volkswagen CC, generously donated and meticulously prepared for the road by students in the Automotive Services program.

Students at the Wheel of Learning
We spoke with four students—Jazmyn, Zach, Tyler, and Aaden—who each played a pivotal role in revitalizing the vehicle:
- Aaden, a junior from Zion-Benton, is planning a career in automotive collision and found working on a non-typical car particularly rewarding. "It was exciting to see my work come to life on a car that isn't the usual model we work on in class," he said. Aaden plans to return to Tech Campus next year to continue his studies in collision.
- Zach, a senior from Wauconda, focused on the brakes and management systems. Aspiring to open his own auto shop, Zach credits Tech Campus with providing him a strong foundation in automotive skills.
- Jazmyn, a senior from Libertyville, worked alongside Zach, emphasizing how the hands-on training at Tech Campus prepared them for careers in the automotive industry. They are also participants in the Give Me TEN+TECH 50 work-based learning program, which enhances their career readiness.
- Tyler, a senior from Grayslake North, has been passionate about cars from an early age, inspired by the Fast and Furious movies. Focusing on painting and bodywork, Tyler values the practical skills he's gained, which he believes will benefit him both personally and professionally, even as he plans to study business analytics.
Worthy Cause
Students in the Automotive Services program are eligible to apply for the tool scholarship, which assists them in investing in the necessary equipment for their careers. Last year, the raffle raised an impressive $12,000; this year, the goal is set at $15,000.

Tech Campus Seniors Gain Hands-On Experience with Antioch Fire Department
Two Tech Campus seniors, Anabel from Lakes Community High School and Kendell from Grant Community High School have recently completed impactful 16-hour internships with the Antioch Fire Department, gaining invaluable real-world experience in emergency response.
Anabel's Journey to Finding Her Passion
Anabel, a second-year Tech Campus student, has taken a significant turn in her career path. Initially part of the Culinary Arts program, she discovered her true passion lies in serving others through healthcare and emergency response. Her time with the Antioch Fire Department solidified her new career direction, deeply inspired by the department's culture of communication, teamwork, and support. Anabel is now considering further education in Fire Medic studies at either Western Illinois University or the College of Lake County.
Kendell's Continued Commitment to Firefighting
Kendell has always envisioned a career as a firefighter. Her internship provided her with hands-on experience responding to emergency calls and assisting community members, further reinforcing her passion for the field.
Praise from the Battalion Chief
Battalion Chief Keith praised both students for their enthusiasm and skills. "Anabel and Kendell were eager to integrate with the crew, demonstrated strong patient care skills, and were excellent advocates for those in need," he noted. Their dedication and eagerness to learn stood out, affirming their potential to succeed in emergency services.
Looking Forward
These experiences underscore the impact of hands-on learning and the incredible opportunities available through Tech Campus programs. We are excited to see where their journeys take them next!
