• Program Description

    Medical Assistants (MA) save lives and are the HEART of medical offices. The need for well-trained medical assistants is growing very quickly. At Lake County Tech Campus, MA students are trained to perform administrative and clinical tasks. During this one-year program, you will become a Certified Medical Receptionist. You will learn a wide variety of clinical skills, including how to take vital signs, administer medications, provide injections, draw blood, obtain an EKG, perform glucose testing, and so much more!! Medical Assistants are the GLUE in healthcare.

  • What will my classes be like?

    You'll be trained to work closely with physicians, physician assistants, and nurses through hands-on activities to read vital signs, sterilize medical equipment, and perform diagnostic testing. You'll learn about human anatomy, how to receive patients, and how to transcribe medical records. Join the growing healthcare field today! Students feel that class time goes by quickly, and they enjoy working with their peers to learn and practice front-office administrative and important clinical skills.

    • HIT 111 - Medical Terminology, 3 credits
    • MOA 112 - Basic Medical Office and Billing Procedures, 4 credits
    • MOA 111 - Introduction to Medical Assisting, 4 credits (Articulated)
