Below are scholarship opportunities the Technology Campus as identified.  Students are encouraged to apply for these scholarships to help offset the cost of post-secondary education.

CLC Foundation - Career Award Scholarship

The CLC Career Foundation is offering an opportunity for students to be awarded a 2-year scholarship to attend the College of Lake County. Students will have to submit a one-page essay regarding the importance of their career choice and how it pertains to attending CLC. Students applying must be attending CLC to complete a two-year career program. Students must reflect financial need.

The two questions covered in the essay:
  1. What are your education goals at the College of Lake County?
  2. How will financial assistance enable you to reach those goals more effectively? Please provide specific details.
Students will also need a copy of their high school transcript (a copy of the unofficial transcript will be acceptable).

Letters of recommendation are NOT needed this year.

All applications/essays are due to the Assistant Principal, Kristi Martin, by Friday, April 16. Applications are available in the front office and is available can be downloaded here:

Junior Achievement (JA) Announces 2010 Scholarship Opportunities!

JA of Chicago is pleased to announce that we have several scholarship opportunities and college tuition grants available to high school seniors who are currently participating in a JA program or who have completed an elementary, middle, or high school program at anytime in the past. 

Colonel Henry Crown Scholarship ($20,000)

$20,000 scholarship - $5,000 a year for a four year period while pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university of his or her choice.
Paid attendance at a summer internship program (3 summers at 10 weeks each) with a Henry Crown affiliated company.

Eligibility Criteria
Must be a high school senior who has an average of “B” or better beginning in your sophomore year. Must have participated in a Junior Achievement high school program. Applicants need to submit completed Henry Crown APPLICATION with the following attached:

  • Copy of the classroom volunteer or teacher rating scale
  • Copy o of the high school rating scale
  • Signed transcript
  • SAT/ACT/PSAT results
  • Letter of recommendation from your principal, teacher or counselor
  • Student essay detailing your reasons for wanting to continue your education
  • Short biography including extracurricular activities, community service, and how involvement with Junior Achievement has affected your life

*If selected as a finalist 25 minute interviews will be held at the Junior Achievement offices on Wednesday April 7th to determine the recipients of the four scholarships
*Scholastic promise, motivation, moral character, leadership qualities and good citizenship are the major considerations for the selection of awardees.


Junior Achievement General Scholarships ($1,000 - $5,000)

Junior Achievement also awards other scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 as a one time payment to the college or university of your choice.

Eligibility Criteria
Must be a high school senior who has an average of “B” or better beginning in your sophomore year. For the general scholarships high school participation is not a requirement but you must have participated in a Junior Achievement program at some point during your academic career (elementary school, middle school or high school).

The Colonel Henry Crown application is used for all general scholarships as well, please submit the APPLICATION with the following attached:

  • Copy of the classroom volunteer or teacher rating scale
  • Copy o of the high school rating scale
  • Signed transcript
  • SAT/ACT/PSAT results
  • Letter of recommendation from your principal, teacher or counselor
  • Student essay detailing your reasons for wanting to continue your education
  • Short biography including extracurricular activities, community service, and how involvement with Junior Achievement has affected your life

University of Phoenix First Chance Scholarship ($55,000)

Through a partnership between Junior Achievement of Chicago & University of Phoenix are offering five (5) full-tuition scholarship opportunities. Recipients may choose to attend a University of Phoenix on-ground campus or may attend University of Phoenix online. These scholarships are directed toward recent high school graduates (Spring 2010) and can be used toward a bachelor’s degree program of choice. The five (5) scholarships that will be awarded are valued at approximately $55,000.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates for the scholarship must demonstrate the following to be considered:

  1. Applicants who reside in the United States must meet one of the following requirements: be a legal resident of the United States; have been granted permanent residency; have a valid visa that does not prohibit educational studies; have been granted temporary protected status along with approved Notice of Action issued by Citizen Immigration Services and verified through CIS Form g-845; or have been granted asylum along with the approved Notice of Action issued by the Citizen Immigration Services.
  2. Applicant must be a resident of Illinois or North West Indiana located within Junior Achievement of Chicago’s franchise area.
  3. Have participated in one or more Junior Achievement of Chicago programs in grades K-12.
  4. Applicant must not be currently receiving or will be receiving once enrolled 100% tuition reimbursement from any source(s).
  5. Are not receiving any other scholarship from Junior Achievement of Chicago.
  6. Applicants must not be currently enrolled nor in the process of enrolling at any University of Phoenix campus or in any online program at any time prior to the scholarship award date. Applicants who enroll after submitting an application or before the scholarship award date are not eligible to be a recipient of this scholarship.
  7. Applicant must meet all admissions requirements of the University of Phoenix.
  8. Are not employees or family members of employees of Apollo Group, Inc., University of Phoenix, Western International University, Institute for Professional Development or any other subsidiary of Apollo Group, Inc.
  9. Submit a complete, signed APPLICATION, together with all supporting documentation by the deadline date listed under the Selection Process section. The completion of the application form does not create an obligation to award a scholarship to applicant.
  10. Submit a completed essay. High importance will be placed on the applicant’s desire to advance in their education, with an emphasis on furthering their careers, and their impact in the community in which they reside.
  11. Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor.
